I made number fans this weekend for my class where I'm student teaching. We doing place value, eventually up to 100,000. I love the idea and plan to review with them tomorrow, but was wondering if some students have difficulty using them. I only put one set of numbers 0-9 and a comma in each set. Therefore, each number cannot a have a duplicate numeral. Do some students fumble around and have trouble finding their numbers? I know I have a couple who will probably take them apart even though they'll be told not to, but they love anything hands-on and think that these are ideal. Thanks for the idea. I ended up cutting them out of index card strips to make for quicker straight cutting. Wish me luck tomorrow with the kids using them!:2up:
