I'm excited that Halloween is over, and ready to start with a November or Thanksgiving theme next week. Does anyone have special poems, fingerplays, or activities that they do during this time of year?

I try to teach one or two poems or rhymes and do them all month long so whatever I choose has to be something that's not bad to hear over and over and over again. :) Fingerplays or songs with actions are my (students') favorite! I have found some songs but not many fingerplays.

    Happy November!

(edit: After searching all morning, I've made a list of some of my favorites that I've found. Since I pulled them all from other sites I don't want to post it, but you can private message me if you want and I would be happy to send them to you. I'd still love to hear other ideas!)

    Albuquerque, he's my turkey!
and he's feathered and he's fine,
and he wobbles and he gobbles and
    I'm awfully glad he's mine.

    This is my favorite:

Five little Pilgrims on Thanksgiving Day
    (hold up 5 fingers)

The first one said, I'll have cake if I may."
(lower 5 fingers, then raise respective finger)

The second one said, "I'll have turkey, roasted."

The third one said, "I'll have chestnuts, toasted."

The fourth one said, " I'll have pumpkin pie."

The fifth one said, "Oh, cranberries I spy."

But before they ate any turkey or dressing,

All of the Pilgrims said a Thanksgiving blessing.
    (fold hands)
