I'm at the airport right now (posting from my phone). As many of you know, I'm moving to Hawaii. I had my cat with me-it's the first time I've ever traveled with a pet. A man brought the kennel over to be checked. I couldn't understand what he was saying. After, I think he was asking for a tip. He got mad when I politely asked to repeat what he said, and just said nevermind and walked off(with the cat). I don't know if I was supposed to do anything else with my cat. I'm worried that she might not get on the flight. I was already worried enough about her being in the kennel for so long.

Then my suitcase broke. I can't wheel it now, so I have to carry it. And of course I put all my heaviest stuff in my carry on. I'm having a hard time even lifting it.

Two hours until my flight. I'm ready to be there.

So sorry for all the trouble! Everything will be okay in just a few hours! Just find a good place to sit and relax.

I'm just really worried about my cat. She was so scared when I took her out so they could inspect her kennel. And she has to spend the night at the airport animal quarantine station since my flight gets in late. I was thinking having a direct flight and spending the night would be better than having three different flights and being able to get her right away at the airport.

I agree with! Spending the night is better than all the transfers! I'm sure that she is doing okay. Any travel is scary for a pet, but she'll make it!

:hugs: Hang in there! I would be worried about my kitty, too. I'm sending good thoughts your way.

Is there anyone you could ask to check in on your cat?

Once someone gets to the gate here, I'm going to ask about her to make sure they got her on the plane.

This has been a stressful two days. It was really hard leaving my kids yesterday. Then I had a 9 hour drive at night-and I could hardly see! And today I had to drop my car off at the shipping place. I'm really glad my husband sent me his gps! I'm ready to be there and settled.

How many people can say they're going to Hawaii?! That will be fun if that's what you want to be doing =)

Think about how things will be in just a few hours, days, and weeks and know that everything will be okay. Just one moment at a time! Hopefully you can take a peaceful nap on the plane to feel better. I would be worried too if I had to travel with a pet. Are you flying alone?

Yes, I'm flying alone. My husband has been there for three months already.

I'm on the plane now. My hands are killing me from carrying my bag! About 6 hours and I'll be there!

Lay back, relax, have a beverage (you deserve it!), and enjoy the flight as much as possible.

Tomorrow, when you pick up kitty, have your husband do it or at least go with you! Maybe it will take some stress off your shoulders.

you have inflight wi-fi?! That's neat. I've never been on a flight with it.

just think about all the wonderful times ahead and that "this too shall pass"...

Take care and give "us" an update when you can on how things are going! Take it easy...

I understand how upset you must feel not being with your cat and knowing he or she is safe and okay. It would very much be like putting my child in separate quarters while I traveled. I hope kitty is enjoying talking to the other traveling pets and that you both arrive soon and happily. :)

So sorry you're having a rough, unnerving day! I'd be worried/mad too if some employee who I couldn't understand walks off w/ my dog. My dog's my baby & I wouldn't know what to do if anything happened to him! This is the strongest I've ever felt for a pet in my entire life.

Anyway, I hope your cat isn't in distress & those employees keep their butts in gear & do their jobs right!

Well, there are no "plane stories" in the news, so she must have got there and in the weird news there are no "cat lady at airport" stories so she may have had an ok airport "experience"

I do wish she would check in so we know the cat is ok ... oh.. and she is ok too.

I'm sorry-I forgot to post last night! I arrived safely. I actually have another hour and ten minutes before I can go get my cat, but I have to go alone. My husband works the next three days! At least I'll get to see him at 6-its better than not seeing him at all. Now I just hope I can find my way off base and to the airport animal quarantine to get my cat!

Moving is stressful. Moving long distance is even more so. We've been going through a process for months now. By the time we get to Okinawa, Japan, the process would be 6 mo long from the time we started. Don't even get me started on what it will take when we get there. Don't get me started on pets either.

You are lucky in the sense that your husband has likely already done some of th settling for you and you do get to take you cat. My cat failed the rabies antibody test and thus won't be ready in time to even take him to go through the quarantine process. It is just as well. He is 14 years old and I worried about the long flight.

I have had to deal with a scared of people dog being put in a kennel after a long trip. It is unnerving. Hang in there. You are probably more stressed than your cat though I wish it were unnecessary to put our animals through any of it. We wouldn't do it to our kids! Arghh!

I'm sorry about your cat! It was very hard for me to choose which pet would go with us. We had two cats and two dogs, but only two pets can go, and we could only afford one. Luckily my mom was able to take in our two dogs and other cat. They are getting a ton of attention from my younger siblings.

It's been almost a year for me since we found out we would have to move. I'm glad it's finally over.

Now I just need to get prepared-I have an interview on Monday and could have a job for second semester!

OK I can start breathing again
I told my DeeOhGee about your cat and she barked that even for a cat she was concerned.
Take some vitamins and sleep some (jet lag) so you can have a good interview
