I thought the 12:41 on the board was a 12:44... and didn't write a conclusion to the persuasive essay. =(

I had my intro and two paragraphs done but no conclusion.

Any hope of still passing the writing section?

Depends on how you did on the personal narrative. If you did a really good job on that, and if what you did do on the persuasive essay was strong - then, yes, you've got a hope of passing.

Is this your first go-around with CBEST, or have you taken and passed any other sections?

I hope they don't think my second paragraph was the conclusion. =P

Is the final grade the average of the two or does one essay weigh more than another?

It's my first time. I need to have my CBEST and CSET done by mid-June. If the current test doesn't work out, I guess I can try to take the computer version in May.

They weigh equally, and the final score is the sum of the two, processed through an algorithm to produce a score on a scale from 20 to 80. A full pass is 41, but if you did well enough on the other two sections, you can get away with 37 points.

I actually passed! Woohoo. Only a 47, but enough to get by. Should I bother retaking it or is it irrelevant as long as I passed?

No need to take it again...

With a score of 47 or above, there's no point whatsoever in retaking.
