I was at an inservice today and heard details about the No Child Left Behind Act. Wow! I think I understand what is going on....but the pressure is on. What are your views about this act?

go to search teacher chat, in purple bar above

You MUST see our views on this from previous threads. Go to the black bar and under is a purple bar that says search teacher chat, next to faq. Put in a search for no child left behind!

Thanks for the info. I checked it out. Now I know that we aren't the only teachers who feel that way!! (Ohio)

Yes, I did read it....thanks! WEll, teachers, we have a long road ahead of us.
Although, I do believe that teachers need to be very active and teach the required+ curriculum...I just don't think it's realistic for 100% passing scores. Is there 100% of anything??
Also, at our inservice, a teacher asked why there is such a demand on the teachers. Our assist. super basically said he believed that the "big wigs" thought that the teachers have had it too easy and haven't been doing their jobs and enough is enough!! Interesting, huh?
The sad thing is that there are "those" teachers who do minimal work to just get by. There are also teachers who aren't willing to try the new ways of teaching. Now, we all have to suffer.
    Good luck everyone!
