I am writing some objectives currently for a particular segment of Biology and downloaded the detailed version of NGSS. Under the standard there is an “Assessment Boundary” statement. For instance, for HS-LS3-3, it states that assessment does not include Hardy-Weinberg calculations. I had full intent of teaching about Hardy-Weinberg. Am I supposed to refrain from that, or is this simply stating I do not have to go that far as students will not be tested on it?
