I'm trying to launch a student newspaper on the cheap, because everything is coming out of my pocket.

I figure we could start with just a monthly newsletter and work our way up.

Anyone know of any software for creating newsletters?

    Thanks so much in advance.

    Jim

Cool. Thanks Tiffw45. I just went to the Microsoft Office Website and I'm downloading the templates now.

I had remembered an old version of Word having the templates already included in the software and always wondered what happened to them, but never needed them. Guess now you have to download them.

    Thanks again.

I'd totally skip Word, but would go with Microsoft Publisher. Multi page newsletters, predetermined fonts, styles etc. The boxes are already preset up to use and type into. I use it all the time to send newsletters and things home.

I use a version of Print Shop (Pro Publsiher 15). Most graphics programs have them, like Print Master. I do one each marking period--2 pages of information and about 10 pages of photographs.

MS Publisher is pretty decent. It might not already be loaded onto the computers at your school, but you should be able to get your hands on a copy.

if you are doing it on the cheap, I would try publisher. that's how we used to do ours.

Also check out www.myhighschooljournalism.com . You can have a free online newspaper.

If they have office, MS publisher comes as part of the office program.
