Really neat! I think I had seen this site somewhere else before. Good luck!

Is it something you have to clear with administration??

Or that others in your school could use as well?

I would fill in administration either way.

Right now, our admin is in flux (P & coordinator both retired, new ones not yet assigned), but I have used donorschoose in the past with no problems at all. I don't see why (at my school/district) it would be any different. As soon as we GET a new P, I plan on speaking with him/her about it.

Oh, and any teacher at any school (public or private) can do this!

Not sure why you would need to talk to admin about it. It is for individual teachers.

I used adoptaclassroom many years ago before Donor's Choose became popular. I had moderate success with it, but I think that for the items I was wanting Donor's Choose suited my purposes better.

    Good luck!

I just checked this site out and no school in my city was funded in the past two years. There were only about 15 classes listed. I would look into the track record for your area schools being funded.

(your link isn't working because you need url tags around it-type a word that you want to be linked, highlight it, then click on the icon that looks like a globe and a paperclip and insert the url. It will put the tags for you.)

    Carry on!

We have parents who work at a pretty big company in town-they do a matching program with Adopt-a-Classroom with their staff every spring. So some of our classrooms have been adopted.

I've never had a problem with admin in regards to free resources! ;) It's certainly worth registering for-you never know! :thumb:

Same here - I figure that the worst case scenario is that I spent about an hour unfruitfully. The best case, scenario, however, is great for both my pocketbook and my students!
