I will be teaching a K/1 multi-age class next year. I have taught 1st for 11 years and adding Kinder is a new idea for me! I am trying to gain as much insight as I can and am quickly educating myself on multi-age. I am looking forward to participating in this group!

chop - how has your K/1 class been going? Would like to hear what you find works, especially scheduling everything with the wide range of levels.

you'll do fine. I've worked with multiage classrooms for five years now. the things I've found to be useful in to start with whole class instruction or activities at the beginning and end of the day. It gives a sense of community and connection between all grades and ages. Then from there trying to design lessons and activities for each age... the amount or time you can spend with each depends on the support you have in your classroom-parents and/or aids.
