    Hello all from NJ

I have been reading the form for a while now, and tonight I have decided to join.
Everybody is so wonderful and helpful......

I am from Europe and I have been living in USA since 1996. I am almost citizen.

I was a Teacher in Europe and i decided to teach in USA too.

I took Alternate Route and got my CEAS.
Now, i am hunting for a job. My CEAS allows me to teach K-5th grade, great so far.

I got a couple interviews however, principals have such prejudice towards people like me (who took alternate route).
I was wondering anybody else is having the same problem?
Have you got a job yet as an alternate route taker?

Does anybody know, any web-sites that helps people like me?

Any comments, help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Demet Bilter.

Welcome to A to Z, Demet! How interesting that you were originally a teacher in Europe! :) I wish you luck during your job hunt. How much longer until you are a US citizen? How has the process been for you? Enjoy the site!

    Hi Lanie,

    Thank you for asking.
My immigration experience has been a nightmare.
My husband is American, we wanted to do everything legal way, right way,
and they got us on the file.

It was difficult at first, but than it was OK.
I applied for my citizenship in July, i have a fingerprinting appointment August 25th than just matter of scheduling an appointment for me and asking questions about American History.

If i pass the test, i will have a ceremony and be citizen.
It is funny when we go to Europe, my son and my husband are US citizens, and i stay in a different line than they do when we reach to custom.

Thanks for the job hunt, i am staying positive,
i know one day somebody will give a chance, and i will prove myself.

    Thanks.
    Your son is cute!!!!
