As a parent of a baby who died at the babysitters this is a BIG deal. Six years ago this coming August my daughter died at the babysitters, because the licenced babysitter, put her down for her nap on her stomach and put a heavy blanket on her. A law was signed today that makes licenced daycare providers have to go through more training in SIDS Awareness. Governor Quin, you finally did something right. Thank you

There are no words I can think of to express my sympathies. I hope this law spreads nationwide.

oh Im so sorry for you..I got chills reading your post.
As a nanny when I would check on a baby sleeping I understand that back to sleep is best and some infants would roll onto their tummy...so the nurse said that if they can roll over and have strong muscles to let them but i agree back is best. ..also a fan in the room to circulate air helps too.

My deepest sympathies for your loss.

I'm glad at least one state has passed such a law.

    I'm so sorry.

I'm glad there is such a law now. I just wish it hadn't been necessary for families who have suffered such a loss.

That is wonderful that this law is in effect! I lost the chance to get to know a brother because he died of SIDS (back when parents were told to put the baby on their stomach).

zoey'smom, I'm so sorry. It's something you never get over. :hugs:

One of my cousins & his wife lost their infant daughter while under a babysitter's care, but they never found out what happened & the babysitter was never charged w/ anything.
