Know exactly what your responsibilities are and do it well.

You may want to look at the school curriculum and then find book sets (sets of books that are owned by your school) for each unit that the teachers in your school currently teach. You could make a list of the books and write a sentence about the book.

Do you get teacher magazines? You could copy the table of contents, put them in the teachers' mailboxes, and offer to make copies of any article that a teacher would like.

Stop in the office in the morning and see if there is anything that they need accomplished. Ask the library media specialist if there are any projects that you could be working on.

Anticipate teachers' needs. I would worry more about impressing teachers-they will let your bosses know how valuable you are.

I loved it when I could walk into the library, likely with a very vague idea of what I wanted, but my librarian knew exactly what book I could use.

Learn all you can about projectors and their growing use in the classroom. Are there special lesson plans that can be used. Books to help teachers design lessons for projectors. I add this because my school is thinking of introducing more projector based multi-media lesson plans and I have no idea where to turn. It would be great if we had a library media clerk who could help out!
