Well, we are going on 30 days now without a drop of rain! They have issued a ban on fireworks for the 4th because they are afraid the foliage will just catch fire. Everyone has been watering lawns like mad, but there are still brown spots everywhere-poor plants and trees. It was 105 degrees yesterday. I can't remember ever wishing it would rain before.

 sorry - just read down throught the posts and saw AMK's thread on wanting sunshine. Didn't mean to start another weather discussion.

I feel your pain. We too are without rain and our temps are setting records. My swimming pool is pretending to be a bathtub, it is so warm. All I need to add is soap. They are predicting Sunday will give us some relief in the heat, only 93 degrees, and then back up to above 100. No rain in the forecast.

Why does it always have to be feast or famine around here?

I wish I could mail you some of ours. In New York, I can't remember the last stretch of time we had with NO rain or threat of rain. We finished school yesterday and it never even felt like June because of the yucky weather. I work at an outdoor camp that starts next week, and the weather calls for thunderstorms everyday LoL. What I wouldn't give to send the rain to those of you who actually need some!

In AZ. we have had some really unsusual weather the past few weeks. It has been overcast, and just a little bit warm. We got three drops of rain at my house two days ago. With summer weather usually in the very high 100's, I am thankful for a few days of just warm.

We must have gotten it all. We typically have droughts in the summer in DE, and it rained SO MUCH this year. Even today it is still cloudy!

Well, that's what is funny to me because I can remember a few years ago where it rained every day in June. I had to call the company who mows my lawn because they hadn't come, they were so far behind because of the constant rain.

    I agree 4myclass - it's either flooding or drought.

We do get one of the other it seems. We have either broken or tied records everyday this week. The five day forecast doesn't show any rain either. It is sad that it is too hot to even get in the pool LoL

It *is* hot! And so brown. It's miserable because it's too hot to do anything outside and my kids are driving me crazy staying inside all the time. Ugh! I remember that summer with all the rain too. I wish it would be like that again. I enjoyed it way more than the constant HOT.

This heat is just painful. I've decided that I just can't function from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in this heat. About the best I can hope to do is nap. It seems like the cultures who still function around siestas have the best idea...

I'm always up for a siesta! I run outside, not on a treadmill, and lately, I've had to move my runs to the morning because it's still so hot even at 9 PM. I go running at about 6:15 AM now, but have to deal with higher humidity, which totally stinks. Ugh.

In Oregon we are just seeing some nice warm 80 degree days. We have had lots of rain, and are ready for some sun to ripen the gardens.

Yeah - rain, finally. Accompanied by thunder and lightning which wasn't necessary - but I'm sure the trees and flowers are glad to finally get a good drink!

The rain just made it to my side of town and the thunder is a little extreme, but I'll take it ;) Unfortunately, I don't think this little thunder shower is going to be enough to relieve the heat or the dry grass.

None for SA either. And we've only got a 20% chance for tomorrow. :p We do finally get a break in temps though--only 94 for a high!

Still no rain in T-town, but the temps are down in the mid-90's.

Well we FINALLY got a few drops of rain yesterday.....I do remember what you are talking about KG. When I moved down here in April '07 I swear it rained for 3 months straight. I experienced my first Tropical Storm make landfall in early June as well.....not so much this year.
