Since most of us are on summer break or almost on break I thought it would be a good time to start a new Netflix thread.... I am always looking for something new to watch.... What have you been watching lately?

I always look for tv series to watch on there in the summer- ones I didn't watch when they were originally out obviously. Right now I'm watching Friday Night Lights- love it!

In the past I've watched 30 rock, Ugly Betty, Drop Dead Diva, and Weeds.

Homeland, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Deadwood. That's a great tv show starter list.

Thanks for the ideas so far! I love the they have TV shows now, especially since we don't have cable! I like to watch shows I heard people talk about when they were on and such. Summer is a good time to catch up on these :)

Vampire Diaires! I will be the first one to tell you that the vampire trend has gotten a bit ridiculous, but I really am addicted. I didn't like Twilight, so I was skeptical at first.

Survivors..but be prepared... it ends with a cliff hanger and BBC only made 12 episodes. Walking Dead has the 1st season.

Survivors was really good. Also catch Jericho if you didn't watch it when it was on TV back in the day.

I loved survivors. I like to watch the British TV shows. Right now I am watching Rosemary and Thyme. Island at War was also good. The Jack Frost series is good because of the lead actor. If Doc Martin is still on Netflick, be sure to watch him. He is great.

Jericho was awesome. I will always remember the Peanuts sent to CBS by the truck load.

I was just going to suggest this. I watched the whole first season on Netflix during my winter break. I also watched the 2nd season on a free site I found since I don't think it's on Netflix yet. The 3rd season won't be airing for quite a while :(

Netflix movies are kinda hit or miss, which is why I mainly use it to watch television shows that I was interested in, but had never seen so I needed to view Season 1. (ie: Parks and Recreation, the Gates, 30 Rock, Flash Forward).

In terms of movies here are some good ones:

    1. Follow the Rabbit Proof Fence
    2. Ink
    3. Being Elmo (the guy behind the puppet is FASCINATING)
    4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    5. Beowulf and Grendal
    6. Sliding Doors
    7. Practical Magic

I don't have many comedic recomendations because a lot of the comedies that I like aren't on there. So I mainly watch dramas, sci-fi and fantasy or historical flicks. Also documentaries

I belong to Bockbuster Access, which is similar. I seem to always have 300 movie titles on my list for the last few years or so. Yes, I watch a few, but new ones are always being added. I'll never get my list down the way I'm going.

I want to see that movie Gone that's in the theatres. I still wanted to see The Woman in Black.

Downton Abbey is fantastic - even sucked my husband in when he wasn't interested! Portlandia is hysterical, even if you don't live in the Northwest. I also like The Tudors and The Borgias.

It was funny to see Matthew Brodrick in that role, so insecure.

I'm not much of a television watcher, and even less so in the summertime. However, I've watched a few episodes of the original Hawaii Five-0, and I've been thinking about rewatching Downton Abbey. I watched it the first time on my Kindle Fire, so I'd like to watch it on the large screen now that I have Roku. I've watched some of The Tudors, too.

Season 2 of Sherlock is even better than the first! It's not on Netflix yet though. I'm such a fan I bought it as soon as it was released on DVD.

I just requested it from the library. There are 46 holds on it but since it said they have 10 copies I don't think it will be too long! Can't wait to watch it!
