I am going to be spending a lot of time alone and away from home. I've grabbed a few books but I am looking for ideas for Netflix and games.

New to Netflix. I know there are shows only for Netflix. What should I watch?
I like shows like Modern Family, Friends, Desperate Housewives
    I don't like crime shows.

Which games do you like to play on apps? I'm looking for something new. I liked plants vs zombies, candycrush, super mario bros wii. I play some word games but I don't find them that interesting.

    Ditto both of the above.
    Grey's Anatomy
    Charmed (currently watching)
    Flashpoint (kind of crime though...)
    Call the Midwife
Ripped Street (crime but takes place in Ripper era London, which is cool)
    Doll House
    Alias

I love the BBC shows as a whole personally.

Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice are both great. Gilmore Girls is always fun too. :)

BBC-British Broadcasting Corporation. They have some really neat shows. I love their crime shows but you said you didn't like them.

The documentaries are quiet interesting also.

If you're into science, I just finished Cosmos and it was great. I second Greys, Gilmore Girls, and Orange is the New Black. Wentworth and Prison Break are 2 more prison shoes totally worth your time. I also suggest House. Breaking Bad (involves crime but not a cop show), and anything produced by AMC.

The Office! Parks and Rec is another good one, too.

    Several good ones listed above.
I'd add: Dexter and House of Cards.
I just started Rectify - not sure about it, yet.

I don't have Netflix, but I have TV shows I love. Right now it's Alaskan bush people and naked and afraid. I play tons of games too.
Shockwave.com hidden object games (daily games) like daily diff.
Serpentine (boggle) keeps me in awe of the great players who I try desperately to beat.
Set game.com for set and quiddler (also daily games)

    Netflix:
    Orange is the New Black
    Dexter
Charmed (I was obsessed with this show as a teen.)
American Horror Story (it's REALLY odd... I pushed thru a season and a half before I decided it was to bizarre for me, but many people LOVE it.)

    Apps....
    - Pet Rescue Saga
    - Farm Heros
    - Lil' Alchemist
    - Tiny Dice
    - Farkle
    - Nimble Quest (A more technical version of Snake)

AND... if you like slots and ever plan to go to Vegas,
-myVEGAS slots (You can earn free comps [you just pay the tax on the items you choose] for Vegas. It's really neat and totally legit!)

Oh! Download the kindle app... and go to Bookbub.com
It's an awesome site that will send you daily or weekly emails with free or low cost books (whichever option you choose). The only issue I've had with it is getting a free book in a series that I ended up loving and then having to buy the next book(s) because I've been pulled in. :-D

House of cards is great. We can go through a whole season in 2 nights.
I liked the first season of American Horror story. The other ones didn't interest me.
My sister loves Dexter. I thought the first episode was good but just kind of forgot to keep watching it.
