I need to make a class calendar by Monday. I'm thinking of either using posterboard & drawing it on in marker, or we have a feltboard at school that I could use. Any ideas? I also need to find an inexpensive calendar (probably a pocket chart) to order if anyone has suggestions.

I make a 7 X 5 grid on a piece of easel paper. I write the days of the week at top and add any events (picture day, birthdays, pajama) by drawing pictures. Then we count and write in the the day's number during circle time.

Dollar Tree, if you have it in your area, sometimes has some pocket charts or calendars, especially in August. I've also ordered such materials from Oriental Trading online. I've used a whiteboard calendar from the office supply store for a small calendar.

I just use a desk blotter sized calendar and mark off, draw pattering shapes, mark special events right on the calendar square. Works great and illustrates how parent use the calendar. I got that idea ......from this board.
