I will be a first time teacher very soon, and naturally I have been racking my brain worrying about this and that. This is my first time on a teacher messageboard, and I'm hoping to find a home here. I will be a 4th grade Science teacher, so if you have any Science content ideas, please include them. Please let me know if you have any ideas or tried-and-trues for the following: Time-filler activities (last a few minutes, maybe while there's a few minutes before recess/lunch) Ways to add multi-cultural perspectives into 4th grade science lessons A handy checklist to have during parent-teacher conferences, things I may want to address Ideas for lessons that emphasize social interaction, classmates getting to know one another, ice breakers - for the beginning of the year Where can I find the following type of forms? Behavioral chart (to track behavioral problems for individual students), template for positive letters/memos to parents (to say something like - Your child did something good today!) Any advice on professional teacher organizations that I may be interested in joining? (eg A-Pel) Anything else you can think of that might be helpful to a first time 4th grade Science teacher! I thank you in advance for any help or advice you can provide. I'm a nervous wreck!
