I am making a bulletin board in my reading center. I really need help with a cute phrase. I made color copies of children's book covers that I want to put up. My classroom theme is super stars. I appreciate any suggestions!

You could split the board in half - Super Stars in Our Class, Super Stars in Books and list students on one side, popular characters on the other next to their book covers.

    Enjoy These Four Star Books
    Reading Is For Stars

Scholastic usually has posters about different stars (basketball, football players, even rappers) who promote reading. I put one up that says, "These Guys Read".

    How about one of these:

    We are star readers!
Be a leader, and a star reader!
Stars will shine when it's reading time!

    Good Luck,

Mary Englebreit has a cute poster that talks about falling into good books. She's one of my favorites. Her website is www.maryenglebreit.com. She has a lot of good teacher supplies available through her store. I've also found that Teacher's Tools in N. Richland Hills has a lot of her products. I don't know where in TX you are, but I bet you can find her stuff at other teacher supply stores. They're made by Teacher Created Materials.

I love Mary Englebreit and Susan Winget, too. That mood is what I go with in my room.

There is a "Reach for the Stars" banner at Wal-Mart for $2.99 (you can get it at educational stores for $3.99). If you had a chartlet you could have some type of goal the students worked towards. Our schoolwide theme is Super Stars. For character we give out Super Star tickets. Anytime an adult sees a student being respectful, responsible, or safe, they give them a ticket. The tickets go to the office at the end of the day and 2 2nd graders and 2 3rd graders are recognized. You could do something like this, or do it monthly. I have a Star Student of the week, who happens to be our line leader. They are responsible for doing the calendar daily, and checking for any classroom mail before coming back from lunch and specials. I have a little chart by the door that says "Student of the Week" and I put their name on it.
Here is some stuff from Carson-Dellosa:
