I've had my current clogs for 3 years. They look like it. Clogs have no place with capris and shorts anyhow, now that it's summer. I need new shoes. Very badly. I'd like some flats I can just slip on. I have nice heels and 'going out' shoes, but I need something more casual for during the day and running errands. I was watching 'What Not to Wear', and the girl got the CUTEST metallic gold flats. I've been thinking about them ever since. Someone told me Nine West makes some, but I couldn't find any on their site. I did find these, though: I also like these: Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm not looking for the Crocks style-something nice, yet comfortable. And I need to keep the cost around $50.
I absolutely love Sketchers because they now make work shoes. They look like your typical flat, but inside it's got a cushion so they're comfortable to stand up for long periods in plus the soles are rubber so you can wear them out in the rain then back inside and not worry about slipping on the linoleum* floors. My kids love 'em too. I've actually gotten compliments from my second boys of all people about them. lol
Jem, I love the 2nd pair! I'm not sure if you have a Kohl's near you, but mine has some really cute flats. I would love to get some flats for next year. Maybe when my sister takes me on my bday shopping spree....
I order from Zappos every now and then. It's free shipping both ways incase you need to return them. I love the pumas or my Nike casual shoes. They're fitting and sporty!
My casual summer shoes are good old Clarks Springers two-strap sandals. I need to invest in a new pair this year!
Yes-Clinton and Stacey picked them out! It was in her final outfit, and they didn't show where she got them (I think it was a re-run anyhow). I need to find a Kohls around here!
Sketchers, Born, and Merrells all the way! Do you have a DSW near you? That is the BEST place to shop for shoes!
I got fabulous metallic flats at kohls. I love them! I have had them for like a year and a half, but now the toe is all scuffed and lost the color. So I need new flats too. Those were great- so comfy! I wore them to work all of the time. I still have time before I need new ones, but I would try kohls- not too expenisve. I love the second pair you picked out. I have been dying to get those, but I am waiting for them to go on sale.
Hahaha, Sarge! Point taken. Probably 1,000 cute boutiques in the city, and I'm searching out a Kohls...
Khols, Marshalls, Ross, TJMax and DSW are all good places to look, though with Marshall's, Ross and TJMax you could possibly leave dissapointed, but they're worth the look because of the cost factor. I just took pictures of some of my favorites, and as soon as they're done uploading resized I'll post them here to give you some ideas.
Great! I just ordered the second pair from Zappo's, but I have no idea if they'll fit, how they'll look, etc. I'm still open for suggestions!
Okay, here goes... For sneakers kinds of days, these are my favorites... For days when I need to have nicer shoes that are still comfortable, I like these and the brown ones in this picture... The black ones in that picture are good for "comfort" days in colder weather. These are my favorite dress shoes... And this picture gives you an idea of the heel hight on some of them... For just running around town, I like these for summer weather... I have a ton of others, but those are the ones I wear all the time, minus two pairs of flip flops that weren't handy when I took the pictures.
You could get a pair of Tom's. They donate a pair of shoes to children in need with every pair sold, and some are vegan/organic shoes. http://www.tomsshoes.com/default.asp?refurl=productlistframe.aspx?CategoryID=8
lol, mrsc. I wear a 9.5, so most people can't borrow my shoes. Thanks, Jen...I hope you got some ideas for what can work on a day to day baisis. stg...if I'm around a cat is bound to be nearby....That's DeMorgan...who decided that he just needed is picture taken just then. I actually took that shot several times and he wouldn't leave. That was the one where he didn't obscure anything .
Well, I don't know -- it looks kind of like she just walks into the shoe store and says, "I'll take a pair of each, please?"
lol 3sons. The scary thing is that's just a sampling of what I own. Now, some shoes, like the ballet flats, I have multiple pairs just in different colors. I only showed the brown ones, but I have black fabric, black patent leather, gold, silver, purple and green as well. I also have a TON of strappy sandals, boots, dress shoes and random others that I didn't show. I have almost 200 pairs total...and I recently got rid of a lot that were worn out or damaged.
These are my shoes. Some of them are waterproof. The big black boots have steel toes. They got run over by an Army truck once and didn't even get dented. Best of all, three of the pairs have special attachments that go to my bike pedals. I have a few more pairs, but they have holes in them. The sort of shiny black shoes are government issue. I got married in them.
Here's where I got them. Left to right, Front to back. Big 5 Sporting Goods B&L Bike Shop Performance Bike Wife bought them online Base supply at Travis AFB Some shoe store in SF while on vacation with wife. Old Navy Performance Bike Base supply at Travis AFB
Sarge--Your shoe collection looks like my husband's. A brown and a black pair to wear to work depending on the color of his pants, a new and an old pair of tennis shoes, a pair of Crocs(that were handed down by my son when they wer no longer popular with teenagers) and a pair of baseball cleats. I on the other hand look like mmswm. I just counted 80 shoeboxes and about 50 unboxed pairs in my closet. What can I say--I love shoes. I also have 2 teenage daughters who wear the same size as me so that adds at leat another 100 pair for me to choose from. My son is taking after his father--1 pair of sperry's to wear to school, 2 pairs of tennis shoes, a pair of flip flops, a pair of Dingles for band, and 3 pairs of cleats for baseball.
I'm a bit of an Imelda Marcos when it comes to shoes..I actually plan outfits around what shoes I want to wear...mostly heels, only have 'cute' sneakers... I love DSW...they have a ridiculous post-holiday sale each January...I almost hyperventilated at the last one I went to...I was sitting on a bench with stacks of shoe boxes -one to my left and one to my right- that were over my head... I bought 4 pairs of black shoes that day-2 fabulous sexy pair, a Ralph Lauren T-strap patent pair and a work pair of heels, 1 fabulous blue pair, and two pair of flats. I have over 20 pair of sandals- switched my closet over today from 'winter shoes' to 'spring-summer' shoes.... Jem- didn't you just sell a bunch of your shoes on Ebay? I rarely get rid of shoes...I re-heel them, get them polished but would have a hard time parting with most of mine as I only buy fabulous shoes that I LOVE... my second grade girls actually 'pet' some of my shoes during class meetings....:woot:
If you take shoes home with you, my hubby might even pay you expenses for the trip. He is always looking for a way to get rid of shoes in this house.
 chemteach. That could be arranged, though the other members of this household might start complaining.
Can anyone reccomend some shoes that are very comfortable for walking all day, look great, and are COOL (as opposed to making your feet really hot.) I am going to be walking all over this summer so I need something that offers the comfort and support, but there is nothing more uncomfortable than hot sweaty feet.
I think God gave me extremely wide feet so I couldn't spend money on shoes. lol. I have maybe 25 pair - I would have 150 if anything ever fit.
