I need a meet the teacher/back to school door arrangement.
Sometime just saying welcome....and the kids names. I need to have this before I even meet the kids.
Any ideas besides the popping into first grade idea, and hopping into first grade?

I hope these are what your looking for,
Well, just going from your user name...
Buzzing into First Grade? With bees for each of their names?
Look Whooooos in First Grade? With little Owls.
Flying into First Grade? Birds or airplanes.

I don't know what your real last name is, but you could do something with your last name like.. Mrs. Millers Monkeys.

Do you have a theme or focus for the beginning of the year? I'm doing a 'detective' theme for my hallway BB and door with magnifying glass graphics with student names on, photos of the kids in trench coats, footprints, etc.

    Other ideas:

One rocking class- guitars, musical notes, microphones
We're a team in 1-B- different ball cut outs, sneaker graphics
Buzz into 1-B- bees and hives
    We fit together- puzzle pieces

Surfing into and/or Aloha First Grade, with their names on individual surfboard cut-outs. (for Hawaiian/beach theme)
Mapping/Finding our way through First Grade and make your door resemble a treasure map (Pirate theme)
    Swinging into First Grade (Monkey/Jungle)

These are just a few I've seen. but of course this works really well if you have the theme throughout the entire room. but i think even just having the door look like that would be good too!

Good ideas. I do not have a theme so it makes it more difficult.
