The 4th grade team that I am on works really hard to make our classrooms enjoyable for our students. Instead of passing out worksheets for the students to complete the problems in order, we try to make worksheets a little more fun. I am interested in finding ways to make worksheets fun. Ways for the students to work the problems out of order. How can we have the students choose the problem number and then solve that problem? (I hope that this makes sense.)

Instead of assigning worksheets, here are some things I do:
    - have the students create their own problems, display them on their desks. Students move around the classroom, solving a set number of problems (ideal way to differentiate)
    - use individual whiteboards to write and solve problems
    - work in groups on more complex problem-solving tasks and record solutions on chart paper for sharing
    - use math games to reinforce concepts
    - work with a partner to write problems for each other and check solutions.
