I am looking for sayings or something like it that other Language Art teachers use in helping their students remember things for Reading, Grammar, and Writing. My principal is wanting to make posters for our hallways and this is what he is wanting. I'm only a 2nd year teacher so I haven't learned alot of these sayings yet. :thanks:

Do you mean like "Food is done, people are finished"? or do you mean quotes about Language Arts?

People are hanged, objects are hung.

Hair is colored, clothes are dyed.

"I" before "E" except after "C" unless it sounds like "A" as in neighbor and weigh. (Of course, weird is weird).

So "I'm done with my homework" is incorrect grammar? I sincerely didn't know that. :(

They're over there talking to their friends. (not really a "saying" but it is how I teach the "there's." :)

how about RARE2 (squared) response? I use this for paragraph writing.
    R - Restate
    A - Answer
    R - Reasons
    E - Examples
    E - Explanation

Or SOAPSTONE for setting up an essay after reading a writing prompt.
