Thanks to the Common Core, experimental design is now part of the Alg. 2 curriculum.

I want some sort of fun thing I can do to illustrate treatment group versus control group. I was thinking of some sort of "experiment" I could do on the students to make the point. I don't know---it's dry stuff, I want to spice it up!

    that applies to Alg 2?

How about a quick math facts quiz at the beginning of the semester?

Have your control group take the quiz as normal. See how many correct answers you get in a minute or so.

Do something with your experimental group. Maybe have them do 100 jumping jacks before the quiz. See which group gets more correct answers.

But... since I have you here... Please, please, please do not teach your students that a line graph is "change over time." The x-axis is for the independent variable. Which is not always time. Sometimes "time" is on the y-axis. Ok, off soapbox now :)
