    Hi all!

I have to submit a 5 minute video lesson to a district. Math is definitely my strong point, but could you guys help me out with what sort of math objectives would be appropriate for second grade?

    I really appreciate it! :D

Perhaps something with fractions. You could use food. Apples work well or graham crackers. Kids have a hard time understanding the denominator because they think that the larger the denominator the larger the piece they'll get.

Fractions, measurement, telling time, or coins!

Take a look at the TX state standards for 2nd grade. Find one you like, then be sure to identify it somehow during the lesson.

Or you could do graphing. I do an activity where I have my kids use jelly beans. They have to answer questions and then groups make graphs.
