I am looking for good books/resources/websites for DBQ's for a REGULAR World History class. :help:

I have plenty for my AP classes, but I really would like to give my regular World History classes the same learning expericences that DBQ's offer. I have tried googling but seem to only find ones for AP classes. The reading levels are what prevents me from using them with my regular WH class. Any help would be muchly appreciated

i teach regular world history too and i know i have a book FULL of strictly DBQs (it came with our textbook, I believe) that i used frequently!

let me know what topics you are looking for...maybe i could scan some and send them to you or something. or when i get to school tomorrow, i could give you the title and author, i wonder if you could buy the book itself separately? :)

Having taught 33 years and switching subjects I have forgotten more than I remember, What is a DBQ? I bet as soon as some one tells me I'll hit myself in the head and remember.

Hit yourself on the Head :) Document Based Questions

Students are given portions of documents, must answer questions about each document and then write an essay based on documents - usually some type of position paper. They are great for getting students to use all types of crictical thinking skills

Miss L - if you would let me know the title and author I would heart you to pieces. We have a new P that has found all sorts of $$$ for us to spend.

I figured I would add that you basically use the document to answer a question that you just studied.
