It's my turn to pick a book for my monthly book club.

I want something light...maybe funny...but not complete junk. It's summer and I think summer reading should be fun.

The group consists of 8-14 women (mid to late 30s) and our common thread is that we all have kids going into second grade.

We bumped our July meeting back a week because of the 4th so it needs to be an easy read since there isn't a full month between meetings this go round.

    Any suggestions?

Just off the top of my head a couple of different type of options:
What Came First by Carol Snow is an easy, fun read but still thought provoking (it's a contemporary novel).
East of the Sun by Julia Gregson is also easy to read but is a totally different type of book, if you are looking for more of an epic type of novel (also historical).
I really liked both of these books very much and think both of them have a lot of discussion value in them.
