I have a student who is VERY low. I mean think 7 year old body, but 3 year old brain or even less. Family moves quite often from what we gather. She went to two schools last year and then pandemic hit. So there is not much data from either school. ALthough both schools were in the process of testing her. They moved here and started the 2nd six weeks. It took me about 2 seconds to figure out there was something up with this kid when I asked her name and she couldn't even tell me that. Anyway she came to school for about 2 days and then had a major melt down so our principal said just do virtual. They did not and now are reenrolling in school. I need to get data on this kid quickly. We use ISTATION, Mindplay, and AR renaissance for Early Literacy. We are thinking all of those are too high for her to do to get any data. Does anyone else have any programs that would give some data? Preferably free since it's just for one child. Or has anyone used those programs to get data on a low student?

I've had a lot of success using Read Theory with my students who are extremely low readers (we're talking first grade Lexile). It's free and it adjusts to the reader's level.

Unfortunately this wont work. She is not a reader of any sort. Barely knows her own name kind of low. Looking for something more along the lines of Waterford or something that teaches letters and sounds. Phonemic awareness. Things like that. Think 3 year old.

It's been awhile, but my lower kindergarteners loved Starfall. But I don't know how it is now. My last group I taught in K graduates high school this year...

Can you get testing materials from lower grade teachers?

Would a local Head Start be willing to give you anything?
