    Has anyone tried prezi.com yet?

You make presentations that zoom and move around and are very interactive. Looks like a neat way to not only present, but to have kids present what they've learned.

I went to a workshop where the presenter tried to use it. It froze a lot. But it was neat.

I've used it a couple times. Works pretty well, and the kids think it's neat when everything spins.

I made a Prezi to introduce my English program this year--it was fun to work on. I'll be having the students make their own later in the year.

They're really fun to make, but they take a pretty long time, compared to ppt. I've used it for grad school presentations, but not in my classroom.

I made one and used it in my class today. Once I figured out how to use the program it didn't take me very long to make. The kids loved the unique presentation.

I saw a prezi presentation and signed on myself, but haven't made anything yet. I just got an email to day about the Prezi for Dummies book and it only has 3 reviews on Amazon right now, but two of them are horrible. (Knocking Prezi, not the book.)

Is it true you can't do much fancy stuff (like even change font colors) with the basic (FREE) subscription?

There are templates you use which dictates the colors you can use. A small bummer. There are a few things that could work better. I personally wish there was a better way to edit the flow when you make a mistake or leave something out. It has a limited set of options compared to PowerPoint that some people might be used to. However, I noticed I was less bogged down with bells and whistles in creating the presentation and still had a nice presentation.

I explored this last year - it's cool. A friend asked how I made a certain dish, so I played around with Prezi and showed her the steps involved. It was fun and quite easy.

I just don't have the time to redo my PP presentations, but I might do one of these for my Open House presentation next year.

    Prezi is super gimmicky.

I think it definitely has it's uses but it is not in my mind a replacement for PowerPoint. It is great at doing things like timelines or creating presentations for students to go through individually but as a presentation tool it is seriously lacking.
