    Hey guys,

I know this must be a newbie question but to be a highly qualified teacher, do you have to have a certain number of hours in the subject your teaching or do you just have to pass the content test and have a bachelors? I'm going through an alternative certification program and I've just heard mixed things.

    Thank you in advance!

The rules vary from state to state.
