I've taken the Myers-Briggs in college several several years ago, and in the last couple years, back then and still today it came out INFP.

I think being an elementary teacher fits me about 75% with my person, some aspects jar my INFP nature, but for the most part, with just knowing more about life and the different job opportunities out there, it seems like something I will really enjoy, especially if I find the right school to work in. Working with the kids in the classroom will be great, it's all the outside the classroom stuff, the PR and meetings with the parents, and all the other staff related things might be a little taxing on me, but I understand it's part of the job.

I also have a deep desire to be a nurse practitioner, and plan to, Lord willing, complete schooling for that as well.

Anyway, all you successful elementary teachers, what are your Myers-Briggs results? :)

I believe I am an INFJ as well, though I can't remember for sure.

Texteacher, I didn't explain myself very well, I have all my pre-reqs for nursing done. I already have a Bachelor's degree. I'm back in school getting my elem. teaching credential. I'm applying to get into a nursing program. I finally stopped the mentality of either/or, black or white. I just said, why not do both? I'm still not too sure if nursing is really for me, but I love medical/healthcare stuff too. I think I'd be a better fit overall if I do go into the nursing profession as a nurse practitioner, or that would be my goal.

That way I'll know which field is really best for me, or I could have both to fall back on, teaching AND nursing.

    I like to learn :)

Adding, as I go through my program elementary teaching has proved to be a real bright spot, I really like it alot, I can tell I will really enjoy it, the actual being in the classroom with the kids. As I was talking about with another teacher, we both agreed working with the kids can be the best medicine sometimes if you're down or something. They always put a smile on my face.

Thanks texteacher! Hey, did you say what your Myers-Briggs was? I was just curious about what a lot of the elementary teachers Myers-Briggs results are. Hmmm, a good term paper topic, lol.

If you got your RN, you could be a very well qualified school nurse....:)
