Hi all! I apologize that I haven't been online as much, but I've been super busy (as I'm sure we all have). My classroom is about 90% complete at this moment. All that is left to do is create my teacher toolbox, place binders in my bookshelf, create labels for supply tubs and place on shelves, and hang student work on the walls in the next coming weeks. It's definitely not a "Pinterest" classroom, but I'm pretty proud of it. Yes... I did use chevron... I find my room "semi-cute" but very practical. Everything on display in my classroom is there for an educational reason. Enjoy! http://www.flickr.com/photos/66353279@N03/sets/72157635018234736/
Thank you all! I purchased all of my owl decor from a classroom pack on TPT. I'm starting to feel more ready for Monday as I finish up planning the first week. I just keep telling myself that I need to lay the law down the first second of the first day.
Love that while you have designated areas, you don't have so much stuff that it would look overwhelming. Great job!!!
Looks awesome!! You don't have to justify anything - chevron's great, TPT is great, it's all good! And don't be afraid to start the first second of the first day with a warm, inviting smile . Have a great first year! I love your enthusiasm... it's oozing out of your posts and it's getting me excited for the upcoming year!
Cute! Its very neat and inviting. And yes, lay down the law the first minute! They are not your friends, they are your students and you are the role model. Have a great week!
Oh, it looks so cute, inviting, and adorable!! I just love it! Your posts are some of my favorites because they remind me of how excited I was last year starting my first year. Don't get me wrong, I'm just as excited this year, maybe even more, but there is just something about starting the FIRST year with your FIRST class. I guess today is your first day of school! Can't wait to hear how it was!!
I love your room and I kept thinking, "Someone has been shopping on TPT." Everything looks nice and neat. I hope that your day went well. What grade are you teaching?
I made owl postcards for my kids today welcoming them back (hope you're having a HOOT this summer!) and directing them to our class website for back to school, supplies and class info. Our first bb will reflect an owl theme with goal setting...plus it ties in with our study in science of habitats/ predator-prey (we dissect owl pellets!)
Very cute! I love the chevron! I did a chevron theme this year as well. We have the same Pledge of Allegiance poster.
