Well, I've really loved looking at everyone's class photos! They inspire me! Here are a few I have...I'm not finished with my room, but the walls are done! Our theme was Dr. Seuss and Horton Hears a Who. Now I need to get the room organized and get everything put away! Hope this link works. http://www.flickr.com/photos/29583478@N04/?saved=1
Holy smokes! Fantastic! I wish we could have those trees. Dang fire marshall. OK OK I know. But still. I love those trees.
Yes, I've spent most of this summer drawing, painting, cutting, etc! It was so much work, but we won't change themes for a couple of years. (Thank goodness!)
Oh no! It's all blown up on butcher paper and painted with Tempra paint! I have it stuck to the walls with blue sticky tak except for the trees. There are a few hidden staples there! What's great is my whole elementary decorates like this! We love making the rooms come alive for the kids!
Oh my goodness, I am in LOVE with your room! It's such an inspiration to make my room really come alive like you did!!! Thank you so much for sharing! My fave part: The cute sayings all around the room ("Pick polite words" above the flowers, etc.)
I LOVE your room! Your trees put mine 1 to shame. It was no where near as great as that... but I think I figured out how to improve it a little after seeing yours... PLEASE make sure to post when you have it totally finished!
I just took a Horton Hears a Who coloring book and copied the pictures I wanted onto a transparency. I then used the overhead to draw it bigger on the white butcher paper and painted them using bright tempera paint. My theory: I have to spend all my time in that room, I want to be happy there too! I'm not an artist, just a COPY artist! The flower with the stem was from a picture in the book. I just took it and went overboard! LOL. This was a LOT of work though, we (my team of teachers) drew, painted, cutout, etc. for at least 4 weeks this summer doing our three classrooms!:woot:
I LOVE YOUR ROOM!! And I know that your students will be in love with it as soon as they see it! Great job!
It looks great! I would love to see what the other teachers did with their rooms too!! I think you've inspired me to think of something for next year...
I love it!! Especially the part about a person's a person no matter how small. That would be a great slogan in a special ed room or kindergarten class too.
That is definately amazing! This is my first year teaching and I definately got the insipration to be more creative! Thanks so much! Love your ideas and creativeness!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW!!!!!!! Your room looks GREAT! :2up:Your room is OUTSTANDING! I love all the art work. Your children are going to love how their favorite stories came alive in your room.:2up::wow:
WOW Your room is fierce! I have always wanted to do a tree (tried with no success) Did you staple the tree to the drop ceiling tiles? I would love to know more on how to make the tree. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you so much! It makes me feel good to know that if YOU all like it, the kids will too! The tree is just brown butcher paper. I took 3 long pices and crunched them up. Then I braided them to make the trunk. Towards the ceiling, you stop braiding them and make the "branches spread out on the ceiling. They are stuck to the ceiling with straight pins. I found it easiest to use two pins in one spot, going in at an angle. The leaves are just green construction paper folded and cut in a circle and then cutting triangles out of them. EASY! The hardest part is holding the whole thing while you staple the trunk to the wall. Having someone help you hold it helps! I also used thinner strips of brown butcher paper crunched with leaves stapled to them to fill in the tree at the top.
I LOVE it!! You are soooo lucky!! I have to minimize "wall Noise" due to an ADHD child in my room this year. Anything "extra" distracts him terribly. My walls will be very plain this year/ My BBs too!!!
Beautiful! Who could resist Horton?? We took our grandsons to see this movie, one is 2 & the other 4, they loved it and we did too.
I LOVE love love your room! It puts my room to shame! I was feeling good about it until now... =) I want to copy your tree, I may try it, but I am running out of time!
It's amazing !!! WOW !!! Congrats on all your hard work, it sure paid off. Your students will love it. You're really talented !!! :2up:
