At one or more of the schools in our area they have kind of a bee theme as a school. They say be on your best "bee"havior and if they do something nice like pick up someones books when they dropped em' or something that they did not have to do but did they get a paper bee and they put there name and the teacher who saw it happen signs her/his name and it gets put in a jar in the office. Then at the end of the week they draw one name out to get a big somekinda of prize. The more times your name is in the jar the more chances of your name being pulled out. Works great!

I actually made the lamp shades. They were just plain white and my cousin (she's 10 so she loved doing it) and I sponge painted the circles and then drew on the wings and stripes with sharpie. They turned out way better than I hoped!

Wow...your room looks amazing. I am so jealous of all your bulletin boards!

Also, I am intrigued by your "Homeworkopoly." Can you explain that to me?

The students get to play homeworkopoly if they bring in their homework all week on time. If they land on "Chance" or "Lunchbox" squares, they pull a card that has a little reward on it like eat lunch with the teacher, 15 mins of free time, move you seat for a day, read to a younger class, etc. They like it a lot.

Sounds like fun. What other items did you include on the board? Does it look just like the real monopoly board? I'd love to hear more about this!

It's a website that already has the names on it (you also can print a blank one if you want to personalize it). www.homeworkopoly.com . There's a mystery prize space where they get a surprise on their desk the next morning (I usually find a fun pencil, sports item for boys, girly notebook for girls).

What about sticking a velcro dot to each square and using laminated markers that have the opposite side of the velcro? Would that work? (I have never even heard of Homeworkopoly before today so I could be way off base here, haha! )

I love the pizza boxes too! I may have to "borrow" that idea in the future. Where did you get them? Did a local business donate them or did you have to buy them?
