After a whole week's work, my room is finally finished! Check out my pictures! I went a little overboard with my theme, I think... http://www.bubbleshare.com/album/437182/overview
Your classroom is so cute! Where did you get your bee rug. I love it. Even my husband said it looked nice. He never has anything to say.
That is an awesome room!!! So organized and colorful and inviting. I'm not usually a big "theme" picture, but I really like it. I don't think you went overboard at all. Where did you get the bee rug??????
Your room looks awesome! I don't think you went overboard at all!! I also have Homeworkopoly in my classroom. What are you going to use for the kids' playing pieces? Is yours on a magnetic white board? Mine is stapled to the wall and I have no idea what to use!!
I like your room a lot! Pizza boxes! That's a great idea! Everything looks so clean and new...very inviting!
Lol. I was getting ready to comment about the rug and it looks like everyone already has. It's obviously the focal point. I like how streamlined your BB are with the same color theme yet you have plenty of other things to bring in color. It keeps it bright, happy and not too distracting.
I love how you have managed to take all the 'stuff' you have to have in your classrm & organized in such a manner that it looks clutter free. I hope I can find a way to do that.
Your room looks great! I especially love the bee rug and your cute little green chairs at your guided reading table. Nice work!
I'm so glad you all like it! The rug was a gift from my 'wish list' this year from my principal. It's from School Specialty. For homeworkopoly, I got little bee cutouts and I just use sticky tac to keep them up there. Thanks for all the compliments!
Love it!!! I have a bee theme in my classroom, too. Mind if I "borrow" that rug from you So cute. The kids will love it!
Beautiful classroom! You should look into interior decorating for classrooms. Your room is one of the best I've seen!
It's neat to see other classrooms that have a bee theme as well. Mine is more of a bee/garden theme! I have a bulletin board display very similar to the one you have in the hall! I have that yellow busy bee border! But I love how you used it. Very nice!!! And don't even get me started on the rug!!!
Love your room. I am so jealous. I cannot get into mine until Tues and the kids come for a meet and greet on Friday.
You & me both! What kind of s#$&! is that I have material in my room that I will not be using but it has to stay in the room. I'm also the hub for gameboard games for the 4th grade.
What a neat idea to keep their writing things in pizza boxes! What sorts of things do they keep in there?
Bee Theme Your room looks great-you did not go overboard at all-everything is very coordinated. I'm joining the rug ban wagon-I love it:2up:
Your room is super, and as if you haven't heard it already your rug is awesome. Can you explain homeworkopoly?
Your room is extremely bright and colorful! I especially like the green stools at the horseshoe table. Excellent job.
I"d love a vacation to Texas! And I wish there was such a thing as interior decorating for classrooms! Probably not a wise business considering how much we all get paid. Thanks again for all the compliments everyone!
Wouldn't it be great though if they created a niche like they do with having someone separate be the curriculum specialist? They could hold an education art and design degree and thier job is to act as a consultant and time permitting, actually do some of the designs. I know our Drama teacher is EXCELLENT. If nothing else she knows how to make the most fantastic stuff with the most common cheap things you wouldn't have thought of.
The pizza boxes will hold all of their writing papers - ideas, drafts, editing checklists, etc. as well as any special pencils or pens they want to continue to use. They're going to decorate them during the first few days and their names will be labeled on the side so they will be able to get it very easily. Homeworkopoly is a super cute game online that you just print out and put up. I've seen it used many different ways, but we play it every Friday. Students who turn in all homework all week get to roll a pair of dice and move their game piece. They can win little things like use the bean bag chair for a day, write with ink for a day, mystery prizes, move your seat for a day, things like that. It keeps them motivated to keep turning in that homework!
Did you get the pizza boxes donated or did you buy them? The rug is great. I'd love to be a kid in your room!!! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful! Your classroom is cute and really organized. I'm inspired. (Unfortunately, the district made a new rule that we can't go in until the 25th! I want to set up my room, too!)
I actually bought the pizza boxes online. You can find them at any restaurant supply store, and they're pretty cheap.
Great room! As others have said, I hope that I can be as organized and uncluttered as you! And I don't think that you went over board on the theme...it is just enough!
