I worked on a nice writing and reading index for my website. It has everything I've shared with you this summer! The rest of my website is still the same. Sorry about the slight wideness of the page. http://www.teachingvision.org/readingwriting/
It looks great! Maybe if it could be a BIT narrower, it would be a little easier to read. But that's just a minor change - the contents are wonderful!
That's fantastic! The idea of making a yearlong minilesson calendar is scary to me, haha. I change things on the fly sometimes as the year goes on, so I think maybe I could fill it out weekly through out the year. That would be so nice to have in a binder in my lesson plans page....
It looks great! I see your school's writing program is Write from the beginning...we also use it even though no one has ever given me training on it. Do you pull your mini lessons from there? How do you work WFTB into your workshop program?
I have to scroll to see the right side-not a big problem just wanted to let you know. You have awesome information. I was just coming on so I could see *borrow* some of you RW mini lessons!
Once again, Ms.Jasztal, you have done a superlative job! I love the graphics/links on your Writing Journey "desk." It is a desk, isn't it?
I will answer more q's in a couple days... because I am at a friend's house and her keyboard is split... but... I may just insert hyperlinks instead of typing out the entire url's to narrow the page. Sure, it's a desk...
Good news! I updated with images of charts I've made this summer. More are to come as I prepare more and students contribute to other charts that are partially prepared for discussion purposes. Plus... the columns are thinner and I don't have to scroll anymore!! As for Write from the Beginning- the concepts from the yellow binder are incorporated into the 20-minute mini-lesson time and sometimes for the rest of the period as well, depending on the task!
Both. The ones on chart paper have mainly not been photographed as of yet. That would take a looooooong while, but I'll get around to some when I have the chance.
Do you have a template for this: MVR Cards: Students will be making “Most Valuable Reader” “baseball It sounds like a fun activity!
