In May I interviewed and was hired as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA). I will be both a classroom teacher and an instructional coach at the elementary level. The district wanted instructional coaches to help teachers implement common core. Since common core is still so new, no one is an expert yet, and they didn't want teachers to feel that the coaches were just giving theories or ideas. So I will have a demonstration type classroom, and share with another TSA. Basically I will teach when she is coaching and she will teach when I am coaching.

I'm sure this will be challenging, and I'm a little nervous about how everything will go. :D

Sounds like an interesting set up. So will teachers be able to come into the classroom to observe whoever is teaching at the moment?

    Good luck!!

Yes that's the plan. We will also go visit other teachers and provide feedback in a non evaluative manner. It'll be interesting for sure.
