So I was told this year that I would be moving from my classroom to the classroom next door. At first I was devastated as the room I was in was the first room I ever taught in and had grown very fond of it. I've spent the past week shuffling all of my things from one room to the next and sitting on the floor staring at the furniture wondering how on earth I was going to make everything work (I don't know how teachers move across the school...moving right next door was a hassle). After a week of hard labor I have to admit I'm in love with my new room! Here are some pictures I took of it before I left today. I will come back and update after I have finished organizing and decorating the room (I still have lots to do!!). I am open to any suggestions you guys may have about how to use the space Edit: The pictures came out fuzzy because I took them on my cell phone This is a view from the door. You can see the SmartBoard and our aquarium on the opposite wall. Here are the students' desks. I'm doing a crayon theme this year so I'm identifying their tables by Red, Yellow, and Blue. I still don't have my class list so I don't know if I'll be needing to add more desks!! Here is my dry erase board. I've placed a small shelf beneath it to store our math manipulatives. My guided reading table is next to the pocket chart (which is currently covered with junk lol). My favorite part of the classroom, the library! I still have to put the books in the bins. I got the basket and label idea from Beth Newingham's site. View from the library to my desk.
