In Feb, after 1.5 years of hell, I was forced to resign effective the end of the school year. 90% of the reasons cited were lies. Well, needless to say getting a job has been difficult but with recs from my 2nd, part-time teaching job and earning my masters this semester I managed to get a job a couple of hours away. Yesterday, my mom was diagnosed with cancer and the likelihood of me taking the awesome opportunity (I've already signed a contract for) is looking slimmer.

How to get past the hurt? Where is G-d in all of this? Why is this okay for others to dictate my life and effect my family?

Does your mother live alone? What is her prognosis? Being just a few hours away, could you get home to mom every weekend, day off and vacation and find help for during the week? ..Sending you best wishes for your mom and career.:hugs:

:hugs: I am so sorry to hear of this news. I agree with cza that if it's just a few hours away and her prognosis is good, then maybe visiting on weekends and holidays would be doable.

What a painful situation. Times like this make you realize that you really don't have as much control over life as you think. Hugs to you.

Prayers for you and your Mom & family.

Like czacza said is there some way to work things out? It's only May, you have some time to put a plan in place.

    Good luck to you.
