I hope this works-please let me know if it doesn't! http://www.flickr.com/photos/37507742@N03/sets/72157624851976022/
Wow! You have a clean and very organized classroom. I love your word wall and CAFE area. I'm sure kids and parents as well will enjoy it!
Wow!!! Your room looks great!!!! I LOVE it! I use my radiator as a magnetic center. It is great. Just an idea for you if you could do that...
I think I tried this, and it isn't magnetic, but I could be wrong...I'll try it out tomorrow! Thanks! And thanks everyone for the feedback. Like I said in one of the photo comments, I really want to have a blue/green color scheme instead of the primary colors. I'm going to be working on that in the next few years!
love, love, love it! If/When you decide to get rid of your rug, I know a teacher (wink, wink) that'd gladly take it off your hands.
Thanks, everyone! And, yes, I will come organize any classroom for a small fee. I LOOOOOOVE organizing. Maybe more than actually teaching (hah, kidding).
Sorry, I just realized I never replied to you! I bought it in the $1 bins at Target a few years ago (I don't think they had that color this year).
That easel is do different--it's cool. You gave me a great idea with the noise level...I'm going to try it when I get back.
very conducive place for learning. it's neat and very clean. a will organize room always looks lovely.
Wow, So very colorful and organized. Seeing your room, just makes me excited and more motivated to continue on my current path, and pursuing my career in ECE.
wow, I love how organized and neat your room is. I have seen so many classrooms that are so full of stuff and the walls have tons of posters, I feel like its an assault to your senses! I wish more teachers realized more does not mean better
Love the organization! I especially like the "Loud-O-Meter" (not sure if that is what you call it). When I become a teacher I am going to defiantly "Steal" some of your ideas M.H.
Great organization! What size is your classroom? Since you have blocks/games/puzzles on one shelf facing a "listening" center and a manipulative/toys shelf on the other side facing the same table - do the children take activities from the shelves to other areas of the room to use? Do they have designated areas? I also noticed no science area and no home living area?
Yes, they just pull thing off of the shelf and take them somewhere to play. My room is fairly small (it really looks bigger than it actually is), and the kids don't get much play time. My district is very academically-driven for kindergarten. We're actually one of the only schools left that allows kidners to play. My kids get about 20 minutes a day.
They are HP mini laptops. I got them through a grant by attending a technology academy last summer (along with a document camera). The kids mostly use them for listen to reading during Daily 5. Our school subscribes to Bookflix, and they also go on Tumblebooks. Each child also has one day a week where they can go on the computers during free time. They can choose from websites like Starfall, Between the Lions, etc.
