I haven't been around much but dealing with some health issues concerning my husband. He has been ill for a couple of months. He finally went in and had some blood work in the immediate care last week which showed some abnormalities and so referred for a follow up with his regular doc. Before he could meet with his regular doc,his leg began to swell and was painful on Saturday. Monday had blood tests for blood clots, Tuesday the Docs office called and he was admitted to emergency room where it was discovered he had a pulmonary embolism. He has three clots in both lungs, we were told he is lucky he lived. He had a CT scan and we discovered he has what they think is cancer as a mass was discovered on his spleen and elsewhere. His blood clot is major and what is called "the widow maker"...it hasn't changed since his ultrasound on Tuesday and it is LARGE. This has not been a good couple of months, this week the worst. On top of cancer, the blood clot will be a concern for at least a year the surgeon told us. I'm praying for positive outcomes on the pathology tests and the bone marrow test he will be getting next week and for healing of the clot. I have to admit, I'm scared. I just needed a place to place my fears. Having two boys (young men actually) on the spectrum, it is important I stay positive as they are having a very difficult time with trying to understand all of this. Thanks for reading my vent..it helps to type it out.
