One of my colleagues was involved in a car accident. She is currently on life support. Her teenage daughter, who goes to our school, did not survive. Please pray for my colleague and her family.

She is such a GOOD teacher. She can reach those kids on the fringes. I can't imagine our school without her. She was one of the few adults in our building that would stop and read and comment on the stuff I put in the hallway ... stuff my students had done. That tells you about her person, the type of teacher she is. Her daughter was such a sweetie. Very athletic, very kind. A huge loss in so many ways.
The family just informed everyone that there is no chance of her ever waking. They are going to let her pass. The family is planning on celebrating the life of mother and daughter together. This is so sad. I am so sad. I am so mad. Two wonderful lives ended by a drunk driver running from the police. Four people have received organs from the daughter. That's the only ray of light here. Our school lost so much by losing this teacher and student.

I'm sorry to hear about the mom. Losing two people at a time has got to be so hard, especially since someone breaking the law caused the accident. They are still in my prayers.
My colleague passed away this morning. She is with her daughter, now. I met with my StuCo kids today (I'm the advisor) ... everyone is just devastated.
The funeral was yesterday. The lives of both mother and daughter were honored. They shared nearly 20 minutes of photos and music on the big screen. It was really beautiful. Because of the expected attendance, the services were held in our school gymnasium. I thought this was going to be weird, but it turned out to be extremely fitting. Terribly sad but a beautiful service.

I came close to losing my mom to a drunk driver, so this really hits home for me!!! Hopefully with those organs a family can have many more memories with their loved ones!!!
