I saw, I saw, I saw!!!!!
Awesome pics, Miss Kirby! It does look just "bee-utiful"!!!
I love it!!!
What do you put in your Mon-Fri bins? I could see a book in one of them so I'm guessing the read-aloud book for that day. Is it also the worksheets you are going to need to pass out? I try to be an organized person but put things all over the place. Just trying to make my life easier this year. Loved your room by the way!
Truly gorgeous! I was also wondering about the M-F bins. I've never done that before but I think this year I might.
It looks great!
Wow!!! It looks awesome I had a bee theme last year, but I think yours looks much nicer! The kids will love it!
Wow, it's beautiful! Great job!
Beautiful as always. I love the fence
I remember how great your room looked last year! I think it looks even better this year!
Just one thing, in the picture where it says who the team captain is, captain is spelled wrong. Just a heads up
Yes, worksheets, books, anything I need for the lesson that day (that will fit in the box, that is)
Oh my gosh, thank you! I wrote "captain" then I thought looked funny and wrote "captin" then I thought that looked even worse. I was going to double check the spelling on my computer, but scatter-b brained me forgot. I don't know why, I wrote it on my board every day every school year! Ha.
Thanks for the comments! I think it's really great being in a room for three years, because now I think I finally am figuring out the best way for room arrangement.
totally great! nice work!
Your room is so warm and inviting. It is colorful but calm! What a beautiful room you have created for you and your students. Where did you find your rug with the squares? I have been scouring the internet looking for one just like it. I really really need a new one. How does it work for you?
The rug is awesome, even though it happens to attract the most disgusting things. This summer, it somehow grew mold. So it was cleaned and sanitized and I hope it's okay....
It's from Lakeshore. My school ordered it but I hope it's been cleaned enough because there is no money to order a new one. I assign carpet squares the first week of school and on the rug they are assigned a shoulder partner to do Think Pair Share with. It's also helpful so they have their own space to keep their hands to themselves, they don't sit by people who can distract them, and I can dismiss them to their seats by calling rows. I can't imagine teaching with out the rug. I'm the only second grade teacher who has it. They say they don't have room for it, but I MAKE room!

Thank you Miss Kirby! I reallly really want that carpet. I think it would be such a wonderful addition to the classroom. Believe me, I will make room for it if I bite the bullet and buy it! Thanks for the reply. Your room is wonderful!
Beautiful! This is such a homey feeling classroom! I love the classroom colors but they aren't overwhelming. The reading garden is absolutely adorable!
You must have a giant room to be able to have room for such wonderful spaces and a huge teacher area! Wow!
Love the 'growing great readers' area...Are those buggy bean bags?
My room and the room next to me were built two years ago where the office used to be. The construction workers said they were just about the same size as the other rooms, just long and narrow as the other rooms are almost square. I do feel like I can fit things in there better. But it is very long and quite narrow.
Thanks, I was hoping it wasn't overwhelming. I tried to keep the colors to blue and yellow but we ran out of butcher paper - so I bought the blue cloud paper and I used the orange because that's what we had left. I wish I would have had yellow for that area though. But it's not that important....
Yes, they are bug bean bags I got from Target a few years ago!
Your room is HUGE! It looks fabulous!
Your room looks wonderful. I really like the reading area.
Thanks! I need to get to IKEA so I can buy three more blue tubs for the library!
I love love love the rug too!
Awesome job ~ you're students are so lucky!

Beautiful room as always Miss Kirby!!!! Great job again this year!! Good luck with 2nd grade!!
What goes in the black bins at your writing center?
Is the mailbox for students to "mail" letters to each other?
Where'd you get the mailbox?
Are all the pencils the kid will need each day in the pencil pouch?
You have 5 sections on your whiteboard but you only mentioned 3 (word wall, spelling, date). Are the other 2 homework (little square) and space to write (big rectangle)?
By the way, just RE-fell in love with your class all over again!
