http://love4thgrade.blogspot.com/2011/08/photos-of-jasztalville-video-coming.html It is done! DONE! :woot: I am so excited for the new ideas I am incorporating this year, the theme, and so much more. It may be very well the coolest classroom I have put together in eight years. And best of all, I organized everything and rid of 8 bags of trash.
It looks great! It is insane how long it takes to get our rooms together! I decided to time certain tasks. It took me 2 1/2 hours just to put the fabric & border on 4 bulletin boards.
It took me close to three and a half hours to paint the two blue chairs with primer and then the paint. I understand your sentiments, CMW!
Thanks, everyone! I believe the kids loved exploring the room this morning when they arrived for Open House. I had 21 out of 22 families come in... so excited!
Proud2Educate: Best piece of fabric I ever bought! Oh, and here is my VIDEO!!! No narrations this year, but a nice pan around the room. My camera was making strange noises, so I muted that out and added soft music: http://www.teachingvision.org/videos/flowplayer/2011-2012.html
Thanks for the link, Hojalata! I have not looked at it yet, but I love sharing with new individuals. Besides that, I believe the layout is working WONDERFULLY for my class. They have a lot of room and LOVE, love, love (really love) the meeting area. I believe more than half have personally told me that the meeting area is the coolest thing they have seen in a classroom in a long time. The only thing now is the disgusting roach issue (I have seen three this week, one being a MASSIVE roach I could HEAR scuttling)... I pray the hole at the bottom of the wall from last year that I covered up with tape is not causing problems. It makes me sick just thinking about it. It is not just in my room, either.
Did your school buy your furniture or did you have to buy any of it? I need a few more pieces that my school doesn't have...a table, a stool (for me), and maybe a new bookshelf...I love your "adventure" poster. Where did you get that?
I LOVE your travel table and "adventure" poster. Love your room. Any student would love to learn in your room...
