This year I had a very interesting class with many intelligent learners. At the end of the year, I gave them the task of writing a letter to next year's class with some possible sentence stems to get them started. While some students struggled to begin, several of my students were chugging away, filling the front and back in no time. I have chosen some of the funnier and cuter highlights to share... Here's a surprising one from one of my highest kids: "Miss ________ will expect you to be ready for 1st grade. In first grade it is harder than Kindergarten, I'm serious. You'll be struggling through school and your reading level has to be at a level I, that's your goal. I wish you good luck in first grade." Here's a real no nonsense guide to school in general: "This is how to act like a first grader. Be a good kiddo. Do not fight. Do not say bad words. Eat good, not bad. Do not have your toys in school. No pets in school. No bugs in school! No guns in school. No cutting hair in class. Do not throw colors in your classroom. No DS in school. Your school name is ________________. This is how you spell it. (Writes school name again.)" I miss them already.
