I've been following your blog and I am totally obsessed with your room. I hope that's not weird. But seriously, it's AMAZING!! p.s. I'm glad you posted about those positive reinforcement charts because they are EXACTLY what I was wanting for bucket fillers. I promptly headed over to Amazon and purchased one when I saw that post yesterday. So, thank you!!
I am also obssessed with your room! I love, love the bookshelf idea for the desks. It keeps clutter off of the desks and allows for more working space. Your room is so organized, for you as the teacher and the students!
Beautiful, perfectly organized room! So much storage! I love it! How did you get so much stuff to stick on the cement brick walls? My last classroom was like that and I couldn't get anything to stay. I love that you tracked the hours it took to make it happen. Like you said, I don't think the general public realizes the time that goes into projects like this.
Thanks! I used stikki wax to get everything to stick to the walls. The longest I have been in one classroom is 3 years, and I had things that stayed on the walls that long,
I second pretty much everything everyone has already said; your classroom looks gorgeous and brilliantly laid out! It looks so welcoming and I am sure your students really respond to it. I especially love the way your library is set up, and I am hugely jealous of it! Many of the teachers I've observed have had much less organized systems that were a nightmare to constantly straighten out. I'm definitely taking notes to steal that idea in the future!
LOVE it all! Thank you for posting. I am redoing my Daily 5 wall charts and especially love yours. What's the border? Is it on tag or ???
Here is where I got the charts from: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Daily-5-Anchor-Charts-FREEBIE-145915 They're meant to be printed on legal-sized paper, but I had them blown up and printed at a local print store.
