I'm curious, what kind of music do you listen to at school when you are trying to get a lot done?

If I am cleaning or unpacking, it is rock or Salsa! If I am planning, it is classical.

When I set up my room Thursday and Friday, it was mostly metal/rock/alternative with a little hiphop thrown in. It got me pumped.

I usually listen to Klove online, or a local top 40 radio station in the morning. I like the Top 40s morning show, and Klove gets me refreshed and inspired for the day. I sometimes listen to one of my running mixes on my ipods if I really need to get inspired. :)

The kids listen to a lot of old school disney and nature sounds when they are working in the room. :)

My ipod is a hodge podge of genres. I love jazz and classical, but I also love some indie/alternative artists, and some folk. I just let it play through and it is all mixed, some relaxing like DeBussey, and some more danceable like Dave Matthews.

    Very loud punk rock.

    Sex Pistols
    Ramones
    U2
    Operation Ivy
    Pixies
    Green Day
    John Coltrane
    Charlie Mingus

(The last two may not be punk in terms of musical form, but they sure had the attitude)

My cleaning music is always oldies! This year I rocked out to some Joss Stone and Amy Winehouse as well, just for a change of pace. I'm hoping to get some speakers for my classroom computer so that I can plug them into my zune when I'm working around the room. I kept knocking it out of my pocket last week--everything was catching on the earbud cords.

Elvis, Las Vegas (various artists singing his hits)
    Spinners
    Commodores
    Corine Bailey Rae
    NewSong

I basically love oldies, but I have some of everything in my CD case.

Sarge, is U2 considered punk rock? I don't know punk rock from nothing!

But I love love love U2. Can you believe it, I only discovered them about 2 years ago!! So I live in an isolated place and for years we only had 2 radio stations. I think now we have 5. But then the internet came into my life. Aaahhhhh!

What is your favorite U2 song?
I love "Grace" and "Gloria" and "When Love Comes to Town."

well, the school gave us a laptop with iTunes pre-loaded, but since it belongs to the school, I only put Spanish language music on there that can reasonably used in class. I have mostly Latin Pop, but I have some ballads (mariachi), a little hip hop (reggaeton) and what in English, would be considered R&B.

My brother used to play John Denver constantly in the 70's. I learned to play Country Roads on the guitar...one of the few tunes I "could" play! I also loved Thank God I'm a Country Boy and Annie's Song. Wonder what his new tunes would sound like today if he was living???

I'm sorry. I thought they actually put music on it. I was picturing some Texas school administrator picking songs to go on the teachers' computers.

    I was getting scared.

I listen to a local radio station that plays 70/80/90/00's music (adult easy listening.) CD's are mostly classical, b. manilow, n. diamond, j. brickman. If I need some humor, it is dvd of Andy Griffith. At my previous school, the afternoon custodian knew what kind of day it was if Andy was on!!

We are huge Diana Krall fans in this house. She is definitely on my Ipod.

Have you listened to any Patricia Barber? We love her as well.
