I am teaching music appreciation as an elective in the elementary grades. I know that electives in elementary schools are rare, but if anyone has any good lessons I could incorporate into this class I would appreciate it. I'm making the curriculum myself from scratch so far.

What grades are you talking about in particular?

How many classes are you having? A full year's worth? A month?

I believe I will have 1-5. The class will meet an hour a day for a month or two. After the first semester I'll be teaching the same content to a different grade level.

    Last questions...

Can you tell me.. are you a music teacher? I'm sensing you aren't. Am I right?

So they take it for a month then you teach a different group. Is this one month the only music they get for the year? (Menaing...do they come back for more later?)

If not... is music something that they usually take one month a year?
