Well. This thread idea popped in my head when I was looking at the other Movie Threads.

Are there movies out there that has made you cry or teary-eyed during a sad or happy scene (I get teary-eyed even during a happy scene if it's really emotional)?

    Movies for me:
Bambi - when I was young
Lion King - when I was young
    Steel Magnolias
    Black Hawk Down
    Color Purple

There are other movies for me but I can't remember them.

I don't cry during many movies- although that is changing as I get older.

I can not watch Save the Last Dance with out crying at the end when her dad shows her her bedroom. My mom raised me so I connect with the no real dad thing.

Other movies I have cried during (either I have not watched them repeatedly or they don't make me cry after the first time)
    Marley & Me
    Cold Mountain
    The Family Stone
    Here on Earth
    The Notebook
    A Walk to Remember
    Simon Birch
    Pearl Harbor

I can't think of any others right now.
Sort of pathetic, but I was hysterical during the last episode of Prison Break and the DVD special 'After the Break'.

Does anyone remember 'Brian's Song'? It used to run on TV occasionally. It had James Caan in it as Brian Piccolo. I loved that movie and cried EVERY darn time I saw it...

I cry at pretty much every movie. I cried watching Up. I cry watching almost any movie or TV show. Especially Christmas episodes.

I cry at all the movies that are supposed to make me cry.

My husband, who is more stoic, is always moved by "Glory". He watches it whenever it's on and cries every time.

I don't cry at movies. The only one I've cried during is My Dog Skip, because I have such an intense bond with my dog, and she looks similar to the dog in the movie.

I'm not much of a crier-but "Lorenzo's Oil" gets me every time-Susan Surandon and Nick Nolte play a true life couple who search for and discover a cure for their son's illness-too late for the son, but helped numerous others.

    Old Yeller
    Schlinder's List
    Armageddon
    Remember the Titans
    Pearl Harbor

My all time favorite movie...has been since junior high. I start crying before the sad parts, because I know they are coming.

I don't always cry during Hallmark commericals, but there are lots of country songs that make me cry when I'm driving to work.

Last night I was on the verge of crying on an Animal planet show where the gorilla tenderly watches over the little boy that fell into his enclosure.

I blame my wild pregnancy hormones for that one, I'm not a crier. Minus Marley and Me when I balled like a baby because the dog and situation is so much like my own.

Just had an old memory of sobbing at the end of a movie (at the theater) with one of my best friends. Old movie-"The Trouble with Angels", where bad girl Hailey Mills becomes a nun(!) at the end. It is such a funny, cute movie--but for some reason, we just bawled!

I agree with most of these. I will cry at just about anything, but "Up" had me bawling 5 minutes in. I couldn't believe how they could make you have such a strong connection to characters with hardly any dialogue.

I remember watching Armageddon when I was probably about 12 and seeing my dad cry. That made a big impression on me...

I didn't cry at Bambi when I was little, but that's because my dad only let us watch the first part. He felt they gave a very biased portrayal of hunters, and didn't allow us to watch those scenes. It wasn't until I was watching it with some kids I was baby-sitting that I learned his mom was shot. You bet that I sobbed then!

My mom watched that movie in like back to back days & just bawled each time. I said Mom You know what's going to happen....I know it's just so sad!!! (When the movie came out... our then young neighbors told us what happened & we all still cried!!!) LOL!!!

I think the next Nicholas Sparks one The Lucky One will have me crying... Anything he writes brings tears to my eyes happy or mostly sad...those dang twists he puts!!!

LOL the funny part was I couldn't really stand Macaulay Culkin from the Home Alone movies but when he died I just got so upset for some reason! Maybe I felt bad because the little girl lost her best friend. I was in high school at the time so who knows what I was thinking LOL

Little Women gets me more each time I watch it-- I have two sisters, so that's probably part of it. (Beth is afraid she'll be lonely for her sisters...even in heaven...getting teary just typing it!)
Finding Neverland also resulted in some tears.
The Broadway show Les Mis. gets me every time, too.

I just watched My Dog Skip over the weekend and cried my head off! Watched it with my little dog who will turn 14 this week!

I try to stay away from sad movies because life is so sad. But, Steel Magnolias almost killed me - I had just lost my sister who left an orphaned infant! Thought it was a comedy - an awesome movie.

Fried Green Tomatoes always makes me cry.

The worst was The Passion of the Christ. I literally could not move out of my seat for about 15 mimutes, I was crying so much. I couldn't speak for about an hour. My husband just stayed quiet and we drove around so I could pull myself together.

I also agree with most of what has been posted already. I cry when watching nearly everything. And if a character cries? Forget it! I'm so crying with them. Heck, when I watch "My First Place" on HGTV, if the new homeowners start to tear up out of happiness I will too. It's so strange.

When in high school, I didn't bounce back from seeing Titanic for a few weeks. In middle school, I cried and stormed out of the room when Simba's father was killed in The Lion King. One of my favorite movies is Ever After and I cry each time I watch it. Watching Seven Pounds...I was a terrible mess! Somehow it was even more upsetting because Smith is my favorite actor. What Dreams May Come...why don't more people like that movie?...is very touching and makes me cry if for no other reason because it causes me to think in terms of my own family.

Well, as I said, I cry when watching the majority of movies, so this is just a random sampling. :)
