Does anyone have any activity ideas for mountain formation. I am teaching the 3 major types of mountain formation (fold, faultblock, and dome) and I want an activity for them to do after. Any ideas you have would be great.

I'm probably too late with this idea but we use it successfully at my school. We do an "edible tectonics" activity (google it - the one with the Milky Ways) to introduce mountain building. It shows how the chocolate (crust) behaves on top of the caramel (mantle) when the plates move.

The kids I'm teaching now did that in their science class- they loved it.

You could also do clay - not edible but still hands on.
