Looks great DHE! I won't be able to set up my room for another week or two, but seeing all the pics on here makes me so excited!

    I like your vine too.
We made a similar vine border paper doll-style. The difference is you will have one straight edge. Fold green paper like a fan then cut out a stem or a vine-type plant. When you unfold it, you will have one section of a border. Repeat until you have enough. You'll want to make a stencil of one that looks good so you can use it to trace the others.

I am too :) I will probably post pictures of my room later next week. I am reorganizing my library, and still need to put up a few things.

Beautiful work! Fun to get started too! I guess you don't have a fire marshall, like mine, he would be going NUTS over that much paper on the walls......GGRRRR. anyway - we paint our boards - less paper! Just a thought;)

    Glad you like! :)

That is my Reading Focus Wall where I will post the theme, title, comprehension strategy/skill, vocabulary, etc. that go along with our weekly story. The students will be able to use it as a reference and I can use it to support small group instruction as well. I'll tack new papers up each week, so it'll be a very interactive board. I will also have a Math Focus Wall, too. It's the popcorn border with the red construction paper that will work the same way.

EiffelTower I love the textbook bins. Are those built-in or did you purchase them? I rarely use books, but I have to assign each student a book. This would be a great way to keep them out of the way.

WOW! EiffelTower you have an amazingly roomy and well set-up classroom! I agree with 2tired2teach that this room would make me think I had died and gone to heaven. Great work!

DHE your classroom is so wonderful too! Goodness!

I won't get to even get in my new (and first) classroom until August 10th so I have a lot of work ahead of me. Seeing these pictures makes me super excited though!

The cubbies are built-in. Every classroom has them, except the downstairs rooms have the hooks hanging underneath and the upstairs rooms don't.

Thanks for all the compliments on my room everyone!

DHE--Where did you find your large homework poster? I would love to have one to hang in my room but I have never seen one that big and that nice.

The poster came from the company that does our agendas. Our students' agenda pages look just like the poster. Last year was the first year that those were sent to us. The poster is two-sided, the other side looks like the upper grades page.
